PETALING JAYA: Ogilvy Malaysia has appointed Debdan Banerjee as head of integrated strategy.
With dual reporting lines to chief executive of Ogilvy Malaysia, Nizwani Shahar, and Jason Hill, chief strategy officer Ogilvy Singapore and Malaysia, Debdan has been tasked with leading the office’s strategy department, ensuring strategic integrity and effectiveness across all clients and capabilities.
His appointment followed the recent hires of Alicia Yap as executive group director and Moheeta Tamrakar as director of experience and social, as part of the agency’s wider transformation agenda.

Nizwani in a statement said: “Although we continue to see challenges in Malaysia’s growth trajectory, our goal remains the same.

Hill added that: “Debdan will ensure we deliver brand impact and effectiveness through our integrated strategy enablement team.
“Not only to ensure we can deliver on the business and brand needs of existing and new clients, but also to broaden our strategy purview to include aspects of experience which would include digital marketing, commerce, personalisation and more.
“To do this, he will be working with our extended strategy team in Singapore and the rest of the strategy community in our network.”
Debdan has 21 years of work experience on both the agency and client sides. He joined Ogilvy from Entropia and prior to that, spent a large part of his career at Leo Burnett. He worked on brands such as Petroliam Nasional Bhd, Tenaga Nasional Bhd, AIA, Dutch Lady, Samsung, YES! Mobile and more.
